Lake Huron Shipwreck Diving with our kids!

It turns out things to happen for a reason.

At our dive centers, we offer shipwreck charters throughout the summer.  These charters are usually hugely popular but our July one was not.  I had been kicking around the idea of setting up a private charter with just my wife and kids and a few close friends.  The hard part was finding the time.  As it turns out, the July charter was in danger of being cancelled because of a lack of attendance when I got the idea of filling the boat with my family.   We changed the shipwrecks to some shallower ones, did our best to get others interested,  then ended up putting it on with just this small group.

We had an afternoon charter originally scheduled but the morning charter cancelled and we got to go out early.  What a spectacular day it was.

We ended up doing the Strong (25') and the Sport (40') and had a fantastic time on two short dives.  The water temperature on both wrecks was 67F Degrees with ok visibility of about 20 ft.   The kids did great and we had a blast!  Here are some of the underwater pictures, I am sure we will be posting some of the topside ones as well.

So What is "Scuba Sunday?"

What is scuba Sunday you ask?  Well as it turns out some of us like diving so much that sometimes... well most of the time... we don't necessarily treat Sundays the way that some other people do. Instead of going to church, service, synagogue, mosque or temple we go underwater.

The trick to this blog is that we want you to share your scuba Sunday by hashtagging it #ScubaSunday or by sending us a submission on our Facebook page and letting us blog and share it.  Pictures are great, stories are great, and anything nautical, maritime or underwater is great as long as it fits the theme Scuba Sunday.

We are going to have fun with this blog so we hope that you will too.  Leave your comments below but most importantly share it and subscribe to it.
